“We can’t make a step back in our relation” – says the Argentina’s national football team’s technical secretary Carlos Bilardo. He called Maradona “chicken” and added that, they can’t make step back in relation with the ex. Coach. “So he can make accusations as much as he wants” – says Bilardo.
In an interview published by a local newspaper, Bilardo had been one of Maradona’s targets. The ex. coach said Bilardo “betrays people,” that he considers him a “statue,” and assured that “he isn’t a face of Argentina’s football.”
BIlardo says that he doesn’t want to say much about Maradona, because he respects his daughters, but assures, that in1985 he had to fight with “the entire country” to make the sports-icon the captain of the team that won the World Cup in Mexico a year later.
The technical secretary always criticized Maradona for his work in Napoli, and said that when he played there, team wasn’t the champion of Europe.
Beside this Bilardo coached Maradona in Boca Juniors and at the Spanish Sevilla.
